Chaffee County Habitat joins the 39th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter
Work Project via new “Rural Rally” across America

Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity would like to invite the community to attend our 2025 Home Dedication Ceremony taking place on October 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM in Nathrop, Colorado, during the inaugural Habitat for Humanity International Rural Rally — as part of the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Building a Habitat home is not possible without the hard work and commitment from our volunteers, donors, and homeowners. A home dedication is a celebration for the community to thank those involved and officially welcome a family into their new home.

The Habitat for Humanity International Rural Rally is a national initiative spotlighting the critical need for affordable housing in rural America. The goal is to address the urgent housing needs of rural communities and implement practical, place-based solutions that make a meaningful difference. The initiative will highlight the need for affordable housing in rural America and will be included as part of the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, Habitat’s flagship build honoring the profound impact President and Mrs. Carter had on Habitat for Humanity’s mission worldwide.

Alongside the project’s signature large-scale build, The Carter Work Project, the new Rural Rally component will support home builds and rehabs in more than 60 rural communities, stretching across at least 20 states and all regions of the U.S. While fast-growing urban areas receive much attention regarding the national housing crisis, rural America is often overlooked. One out of every four rural households spend more than 30% of their monthly income on housing.

“For 25 years, Chaffee County Habitat has worked alongside volunteers, donors, and community partners to provide affordable housing solutions in Chaffee County. Every home built represents stability, security, and opportunity for families, and every project reflects the collaborative spirit of our community,” said Jill Nall, Executive Director of Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity.

“We are excited to welcome US and Colorado State legislators, state and local government officials, and their staff who will be joining us for the Rural Rally event.”

With affiliates in cities and towns of all sizes across the United States, Habitat for Humanity acts as a bridge between urban, suburban, and rural areas, working with communities and policymakers to find affordable housing solutions that work for all Americans.
